Trent Wotherspoon welcomes endorsement from Aleana Young

November 15, 2017

Today NDP leadership candidate Trent Wotherspoon welcomed the endorsement of Aleana Young, Regina Public School Board Trustee, Saskatchewan Association of School Boards Vice President, and former NDP Regina University candidate.

“Trent is a real leader, and he knows how important education is to the future of our province,” said Young. “I’ve watched Trent as he’s fought for kids and for classrooms, and his vision for education will build a world-class, 21st century education system for our kids. Trent understands the needs in classrooms and the problems facing teachers and students. He’s lived them. His comprehensive plan for education is thoughtful, based on respect, collaboration, and hope. It is a plan I fully support.

“Trent is a true feminist. He’s committed to making life better for women in Saskatchewan. From pay equity to getting more women nominated and elected in our Legislature, Trent knows that there is so much work to do to close the gap between women and men in our province. I know he will deliver for women, and for all Saskatchewan people. He is a kind, genuine, and good man, who truly believes that to lead is to serve.”

“I’m honoured and thrilled to have the support of Aleana Young – a real leader in our community,” said Wotherspoon. “As an entrepreneur and as a leader in education, she brings so much to the table and I’m thankful to work with her to deliver for students and build a province that works for everyone."
