Anne Blakeney endorses Trent Wotherspoon

December 8, 2017

Today NDP leadership candidate Trent Wotherspoon welcomed the endorsement of Anne Blakeney, longtime builder of the Saskatchewan NDP and wife of former Saskatchewan NDP premier Allan Blakeney.

“I am proud to endorse Trent Wotherspoon because he has years of experience and understands how government works,” said Blakeney. “He wants universal mental healthcare, improvements for the lives of rural people, and he will reduce the isolation of Northerners. He cares for all the people of Saskatchewan and will work to ensure fairness and dignity for all.”

“It is an incredible honour to earn the endorsement of someone with such a remarkable legacy in our province, Mrs. Anne Blakeney,” said Wotherspoon. “Mrs. Blakeney has dedicated her life to building and bettering our party, province and country, together with Premier Allan Blakeney and New Democrats.  Mrs. Blakeney knows better than almost anyone what it takes to lead at this important time and is committed to building a province that works for everyone.”

Allan Blakeney was Leader of the Saskatchewan NDP from 1970 to 1987 and Premier of Saskatchewan from 1971 to 1982.
